From the Desk of Judy Ortiz, Director of CEP
This year has been a time of uncertainty and challenges for our communities, our schools, and our parish. Our worship and ministry space has been reduced and our faith formation for families is also being challenged in many ways. However, the mission of Christ continues forward. We have the promise that the Holy Spirit will always be with us.
St. Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians states, “I received from the Lord, what I also handed down to you.” Paul had the task of instructing his community on the Holy Eucharist. Paul was forming disciples. He was doing the work of God.
I believe that being a catechist is truly God’s work. I am asking you to pray that people will respond to the call of being catechist. Through this time of uncertainty and challenges, the Catholic Church continues to move forward. However, it takes committed catechists to help form the future of itsForms/Links disciples, the future of the church. If you are discerning your call to be catechist or have been called to be a catechist, please contact me at the parish office or by email. (210) 497-6101) judy.ortiz@shrineofpadrepio.com
